Day 4 - I am enjoying the breakfast as much as mom and dad are. The little boxes of cereals are a real treat, but I like the toasts most of all. 
We headed to Watendlath, which had the most spectacular view of Derwent and Bassenthwaite Lakes. The waters were calmed and you could see people kayaking, and ripples of water from the Derwent Launch, ie. the ferry.
We drove on and came across Grange Bridge where there were more duh-ckkhs to be discovered.
A visit to Cumbria would not be complete without a trip to the Honister Slate Mines. You can see the slates on the hill slopes being mined. A lot of the buildings around here are built with slates. 
Climbing my first mountain, Buttermere, with Dad. Buttermere means the dairy pastures.
They brought along penguin to keep me company on those long car rides.
The next day, we were on our way back home. Chester beckoned as it seemed sensible to break the journey some where. It was worth it. Quite a quaint town with old timber framed buildings and surrounded by a roman fort.
The cathedral was impressive as well. We had lunch there and then set off home at last..!!
