Finally..

Managed to catch some crawling pictures..

And some fascination with my mirror image.

Almost a year old..

Today, I made a trip to London Zoo with the Ryalls. The highlight was the gorilla, sweet gentle thing it was. We saw penguins, skunks, birds, lemurs and owls. I couldn't stop babbling when I got home.
Nowadays, it takes mom and dad more than an hour to put me down in bed, although I sleep just about an hour in the day. Any other babies like that out there? Please comfort my parents..
Now that I started drinking from the bottle, I can't stop. I take about 700mls a day, much to everyone's relief. Like the hairstyle? It's the latest in baby fashion.
We went shopping over the bank holiday weekend as it rained all three days.
Lo and behold, I have started crawling, for about 2 weeks now. Becoming a pro now. Just as they thought I was one of those babies who would not crawl, but one day just get up and walk, I started. You can hear pitter patter of little hands as they make their way on the floor. I have even picked up speed, so mom and dad haven't managed to snap any proper pictures yet.
Peaches are in season now, and they taste great! Mom is surprise at how much I enjoy eating sourish fruits, like peaches, kiwi, nectarines.

Whee..

With the warm weather around, we have been venturing out to playgrounds. I am really pleased that the thoughtful councillors have built swings for people my age. All the other play stuff needs a few more months of growing up though.
I like this toy, where the butterfly surprises me with 'Peek-a-boo!' and there's a cordless phone with lots of hip music. What more can I ask for?
We went out for a hearty meal, and mom ordered a fisherman's meal, with a grilled scallop. (I 'ordered' a free range boiled egg and grapes, from mom's kitchen)
(Mom: The food was really good!)

Spending my time..

With my childminder on holiday, it's just me and mom the last two days, and another two days ahead plus a long weekend with the bank holiday.
It's been quite eventful so far. Yesterday, mommy managed to get her key stuck in the lock. Daddy had to come home to rescue us. We spent an hour sitting in front of the door.
Someone gave me a little teddy bear, but I kept throwing it out of my pushchair. Having mommy there to retrieve the fallen items only adds to the fun!
Later in the evening, I had my very first swim. I was abit nervous at first, but gradually warmed to the idea as other children seemed to enjoy themselves. The pool had waves and water canons and canopy as well, so very varied.
Today, we went to sunbeams, where other babies and toddlers hang out. Love the toys there (and the babies). It must be play heaven. This was followed by a hearty, self fed lunch, which guaranteed mess and an afternoon tea with our Japanese neighbours. Lovely sunshine once again!
Mom: Changing her now has become more challenging, as she rolls over both ways. If you try to sit her down, she straightens her whole body to avoid sitting down. Then she sticks out her tongue, cheeky. Quite reluctant to crawl, but still manages to move around somehow. She rather gets down and walk (holding on to my fingers) instead of being held and cuddled. Although she still puts almost everything in her mouth, she hesitates if you say 'No'.

Whenever you say 'Where's Leanne?', she will sneak a peek at you. I think she knows her own name. However, she is losing some interest in eating, since she is preoccupied with holding her own spoon, throwing, banging, shaking and learning to walk.
Bathing time is very interesting now, as she tries to put the duckies into the cup, and then pouring them out; throwing Pooh and his tyre out of her bath then peering over. It's amazing how babies love repetition.
